J. Alpinist is a mixed media project. Improvised ambient modular synth mixed with reactive visuals, often designed in MaxMSP. It is also the Moniker of John Hornak (Mastering Engineer, Producer, Locutus, Hermitess, Michelle Gurevich)

After the release of the successful “Offerings” project in 2018, going as high as #5 on the Earshot Electronic charts. J.Alpinist departed on a 5 date European tour, performing with acts such as Croation Amor in Vienna, and playing at Liquid Sky #2 in Berlin.

J.Alpinist will be releasing a new record this spring, Functional Ambient, his first with AQuietRoom records out of Germany. J.Alpinist will be on tour again overseas this fall.
